Substitute Information

We are very excited to offer online training for Substitute Teachers in Yadkin County.  This will be mandatory training in order to be added as a sub for the 2017-2018 school year.  

 

The VIRTUAL training is offered by the App-Garden University.  There are many benefits to you as a sub such as the ability to train anytime and anywhere you have access to the internet.  It is so important that we as a district keep you current on the board policies and procedures as well as giving you great tips and ideas for being a successful substitute teacher.   This training is required of all new subs in order for our district to meet compliance requirements.

 

Once you complete this training course you will be given a certificate of completion which may be printed and kept for your records.  This certificate of completion will be part of your required documentation when meeting with the Human Resources representative to be added as a substitute teacher. Once you have met all of the requirements and completed the required paperwork provided in the orientation course you will be able to attend the monthly enrollment meeting. These enrollment meeting dates can be located toward the bottom of this webpage.

 

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY THE SELECTIONS BELOW TO KNOW WHICH ONE YOU SHOULD TAKE:

 

The training is $59.00 for the Yadkin County Schools Substitute Orientation with Effective Substitute Training Course for new substitutes who do not have a teaching license or have not completed an approved substitute teacher training program.  

 

The training is $49.00 for the Yadkin County Schools Substitute Orientation Course for new substitutes who hold a teaching license or have completed an approved substitute teacher training program.  

 

The course you select allows you to review the course as many times as you feel necessary within your 28 day enrollment in the course which begins on the date of the purchase.  

 

If you are a retired Yadkin County Schools teacher or teacher assistant, you are not required to purchase a training course or the orientation program. Please contact Sherry Hinshaw at sherry.hinshaw@yadkin.k12.nc.us for more information.

ENROLLMENT DATES

These are the dates you can enroll with our human resources department once you have completed the required training program and documentation. 

 

Please bring ALL required documentation printed from the online orientation (as well as your drivers license, social security card, and a voided check) when you attend the enrollment session. 

 

No appointment is required, just arrive between the hours designated for that day. Enrollment will be held at the Yadkin County Schools Administrative Office located at 121 Washington Street, Yadkinville, NC.

 

Scheduled Substitute Enrollment Dates:

Wednesday, November 15, 2017     2:00-4:00 p.m.

Wednesday, January 17, 2018     2:00-4:00 p.m.

Wednesday, March 21, 2018     2:00-4:00 p.m.
